Hard Boiled Eggs IN AN INSTANT POT

Just a little update on the Bulletproof coffee saga before I delve into the wonders of Instant Pot heaven. Because drinking coffee full of [healthy] fats still fascinates me.

I had been drinking BP coffee for the better part of six (6) weeks when I decided that I was going to stop drinking it to see how my body reacted. So I did. Cold turkey. And, y'all...I haven't been this tired in a while. I can feel that my brain isn't as sharp as it has been since I started drinking BP coffee and I'm so tired again. I guess it was doing more good than I thought! I'll be back on the Bulletproof train when I get back in town next week, that is for sure.

Now, for Instant Pot glory.

Since I've hit it hard with scientific stuff the past few posts, I decided that it would be great to post one of those step-by-step instructional blogs with photos. And what better thing to do that with than my Instant Pot??😉

The other day, I decided that I would attempt to hard boil eggs in my IP because everybody has been doing it lately. I would read posts such as, "Farm eggs have never peeled so easy!" or, "This is the best way to hard boil eggs!" so, CLEARLY, I had to try it. And y'all....it's SO. EASY.

First, you set the Instant Pot up, placing the roasting rack in the bottom.

Then, you pour 1 cup of water in the bottom of the pot.

Place how ever many eggs you're wanting to hard boil on the roasting rack (I did 6 this time, but I've done 12 before with no issue at all).

Next, attach the lid, making sure the steam knob is set to "sealed."

Set your Instant Pot to Manual, then punch the Adjust button and hit the "+" or "-" buttons until you get to "7" on the screen.

Then, the Pot will say "On" and start to come to pressure. It generally takes 8-10 minutes for it to fully pressurize, then it will start the steaming process and begin a countdown.

The Instant Pot will beep once the time is up. Once this happens, using a kitchen towel, you'll turn the steam knob to the left to de-pressurize. You can either slowly turn the knob or you can do a quick de-pressurize and turn it all the way at once. (I've done both and the eggs turned out great both times.)

After it has fully de-pressurized, turn the lid to the left to unlock it and remove to let any remaining steam out.

Next, remove the eggs from the Pot and let cool for a few minutes. I had to use tongs to get them out, so they will be HOT.

Then, start peeling! I'm telling you, I have never EVER had brown egg shells peel away so EASILY!

So, there you have it, cyber friends! I'm telling you, if you still don't have an Instant Pot, you should seriously consider getting one!

XOXO,

Heather

P.S. I'm out of town today and completely failed to finish a recipe to post today. But I'll make up for it next time! ðŸ’‹
